Вот представте ситуацию: пишет гопник на заборе любимые три буквы, и, тут же, вокруг него все рекламные щиты загораются надписями типа "хочешь познакомиться с горячими парнями сегодня в твоём городе!?" Всем будет жить легче в Светлом Будущем.

Hey, remember that one time, when I said, "I'd give up forever to touch you?" Well, listen, this is really awkward, and all, but I sort of need it back. Of course I meant it, one hundred percent, but, I mean, I kind of said it in the heat of passion, I didn't realize you would actually take me up on it. You know, how I sometimes get, you know, like that, and I say things that I don't actually mean.

Well no, not that I didn't mean it, like I said, I totally meant it one hundred percent, but not, you know, literally.

I can't believe you thought all I wanted was to literally touch you. I could have come up with a thousand excuses to just touch you. Maybe I could pretend to be saying "hi," or pretend to be taking a piece of lint off your sweater. I totally thought that you would understand the way I wanted to "touch" you, you know, metaphorically, and with my penis.

Anyways, if you could give me my forever back, I would really appreciate it. Maybe we can work out a deal, where you can touch me. In fact you can touch me twice, how about that! That's double what you paid to get it from me! Well, in any case, we could probably work something out, just let me know.

Oh, and I'd appreciate if you could let me know sooner, rather than later, because, you know, I don't have forever.

Let me put it another way. It should not be this easy to connect with people. A meaningful form of communication should take some effort. When you receive a letter, you get excited, because you know the sender cares enough to spend some time writing and mailing the letter. When you see a twitter post, you, at best, get the false impression that the originator of the message is communicating with you.

Obviously, I realize the inherent hypocrisy of this post, but at least I took the time to type more than 140 characters.

Last night I accidentally turned to CNN during a commercial break in the South Park episode. Not just CNN, CNN Headline News, which for some reason had a O'Reilly style-show with Glenn Beck. They still had a headline, though, which was, word for word: "END OF THE WORLD" It also featured a graphic with the words Evil Empire over a Russian flag. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it's the end of the world. You heard it on CNN.

Оружие не нашли, связи с Аль-Кайдой оказались хиловатыми, и пришлось изменить предлог, при чём, как в настоящем, так и в прошлом. Благо, к ноябрю 2004го народ забыл о чём шла речь в начале 2003го, а видеозаписи -- ну кто будет пересматривать старьё, оно ведь даже не в формате HD.
